Short and sweet

Second squirrel...

Today was much different than yesterday. I got out earlier by a couple of hours while it was cool and sunny. I walked Cisco into the woods and removed his jesslets and off he flew. He cast and sliced  just before release. Estimated weight with gear about 975 gram, still quite heavy. He basked in the sun for a bit. There was no evidence of squirrels. Cisco moved once or twice then flew to another clearing. I heard a squirrel barking up in a tree and scrambled to it, where Cisco was working on a squirrel. Cisco was very intent and made his move. He grabbed the squirrel and parachuted down instantly which he often does with big squirrels that he wants me to dispatch. I put the two handed squeeze on it. Cisco was ready for the rabbit tidbits that I had in the game bag. He readily gave up his squirrel. I cut the head off, put the body in the game bag and we headed to SUV.

Bunny tidbits beat a tough old squirrel any day - note the bare legs

Ready for the house, Dad....
