Too heavy and too warm

No picture today. Cisco 985 grams this morning at 0530. We headed out near Freedom Park on a warmish morning. I released Cisco and he flew to his tree to sit. I walked to the woods and Cisco found a squirrel well off the path. I wasn't sure but inferred it from his lack of response. After crawling through some of the thickest brush yet, I found him focused on hunting in a little clearing. I worked my way back to the path and vaguely wondered whether folks go to the park, get stuck in the vegetation, and are never heard from again. Only Vaguely......

Cisco followed me to the main hunting area but showed little vigor. He was balky again. I fed him up and called it good.

I often forget what my goals are this time of year with a fat hawk. They are: bring him home, get him some exercise, have a chase or two, and let him finish the molt. All accomplished today. Out again Wednesday. Supposed to be warmer, yuck.
